The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently viewing the Fernie 2 Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render services on the community.

SASSA will be rendering companies which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer care enquiries, along with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In an announcement, the agency mentioned it is alarmed with regard to the substantial amount of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The aim on the Integrated Registration SRD Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to your substantial variety of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This really is due to lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no totally functional office dedicated to service the area on a daily basis. The support position produced for intervention ordeals a substantial influx of possible beneficiaries, that makes it tricky for that office to attend to all people who visit a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise extra methods to empower the servicing of all consumers and improve usage of Social Assistance expert services,” the agency said.
